Our Facilities

Our Facilities

Our multi-area facility consists of 3 classrooms including main classroom, gym, lunch room and a fenced in yard with play structure.

Activities

We offer many activities to the children in our program, including arts and crafts, singing, outdoor/indoor gym. We provide a hands on learning approach for the children by providing them with several learning and activity centres to encourage their personal development. Social interactive skills are purposely taught in the context of all the above activities.

Interdenominational Christian activities consist of Bible stories, songs, memory verses and prayers.

School Readiness Program

Our program includes letters, numbers, shapes, colours, days and months, social skills, problem-solving skills, health and science and much more. The program encourages children to learn skills that will be important in their transition to the school system. Some of these are how to participate in a small or large group, the importance of lining-up, respect of others and their belongings, and being responsible for their own belongings.

Behaviour Management

At HDCK our Behaviour Management Policy is based on the belief that children benefit from meeting the reasonable expectations of compassionate staff. Our teachers endeavour to model the Christian principles of gentleness, love, respect, kindness, and self-control. These qualities generate trust and a sense of security that create freedom in the classroom setting. We see ourselves as supporting partners with the parents. We strive to keep our communications with parents current. For more information please take a look at our parent handbook.
